Song birds awaken
When the rooster starts to crow-
A medley at dawn.

Two, in a vacuum,
Entranced in his loving gaze,
“You’re the best ever.”

A date with your soul.
Take time each and every day-
Away from the noise.

Victory? Defeat?
No winners to be found here-
The tail wagged the dog.

My sister’s birthday,
Halloween magic abounds-
All treats, no tricks, please!

Earthquakes in Mid South,
Hurricanes with North East snow,
A full moon to boot.

Giggle with a friend,
Laugh for the sake of laughing-
Endorphins are free.

Weigh the benefits.
Organize, prioritize-
Do what needs doing.

Setback or set up?
Pause, breathe, let life run its course-
Got to lose to gain.

The next phase of life,
A new season has arrived.
All I need, I have.
